Beijing Institute of Technology
Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) is a prominent public university with a traditional focus on science and
technology but developing into other areas such as management and humanities. The Institute emphasizes
ethics in scholarship, discovery of truth, and contribution to mankind through profound academic
accomplishments. BIT has always formulated its strategies in light of national strategic needs and global
developments in science and technology and education, and in accordance with its own strengths and missions.
These strategies include: consolidating its strengths in mechanical and vehicle engineering and automation;
leveraging its advantages and distinctive programs in IT-related disciplines; and developing new strengths in
aerospace engineering. BIT will build its strengths in both science and engineering, and simultaneously develop
disciplines in management and humanities.

Offerings:
•
This Unified Program will be spread over a minimum of 5
years.
•
The Bachelor Degree will be awarded by BIT, while the Master
Degree will be awarded by AIT, both degrees will only given at
the end of the program upon fulfillment of the requirements of
each institute.
o
Bachelor Degree title will be Bachelor of Science (B.Sc)
or Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng).
o
Master Degree title will be Master of Science (M. Sc) or
Master of Engineering (M.Eng) depending on the
bachelor degree awarded by BIT.
•
In this unified program, students will spend first six (6)
semesters for the bachelor courses at BIT and continue in the
4th year (2 semesters) completion of Bachelor program while
starting the Master program simultaneously in AIT, and
complete the Master Program in AIT in the 5th year.
Requirements for Bachelor Admissions:
Admissions to Bachelor’s programs are based on competitive
admission criteria set by BIT.
•
Mentally and Physically healthy non-Chinese citizen;
•
High school graduation or equivalent to a Chinese high school
graduate, with good scores in school transcript;
•
Proficient English language skills (TOEFL 80 or IELTS 5.5).
Native English speakers or graduates from high school where
English is an official teaching language are exempt from TOEFL
or IELTS, but should provide a personal statement written in
English
•
With age 18 through 25. Under age of 18 should provide
guardianship documents along with all other required
documents.
•
Competitive admission will be based on UG Entrance Test by
the BIT – to ensure quality of enrolled students.
•
The Entrance Test will be held either in China or in Thailand.
The students who passed Entrance Test will get Admission
Letter and visa related documents.
Requirements for Masters Admissions:

Common recommendation Letter from BIT
•
Transcripts or Grades Certificates for 6 semesters (1st to 3rd
year)
English Requirement:
•
Entrance: AIT English Score and/or IELTS of 6.0 or Internet-
based TOEFL of 80
•
Exit: IELTS of 6.0 or AIT English Test of 6.0
Grade:
•
Entrance: minimum CGPA of 2.75
•
Exit: minimum CGPA of 2.75
•
The Bachelor’s part of the program and the Master’s part of the
program will overlap as follows:
•
During semesters 1-6, students will follow Bachelor’s degree
courses at BIT.
•
During semesters 7-8, a7-8 semesters, bachelor and master
program will run in parallel. Bachelor curses and thesis will be
taken at AIT and credits earned will be transferred to BIT and
some credits will be credited to master program.
•
Semesters 9 & 10 (including intersemester), student will
continue the Master’s program in AIT. The students will follow
regular semesters (Aug-Dec; and Jan-Apr), including Inter-
semesters (May – July), and if deemed necessary will be given
extensions as per AIT policy.
Tuition Fees:
Bachelor at BIT for Non-Chinese is CNY 100,000 (CNY 20,000 for
Chinese)
Master at AIT for Non-Chinese is THB 630,000 (THB 540,000 for
Chinese)
